Batman Cake

This cake was so simple it only took an hour or so to put together. I could have made a fondant batman to go on the cake too but I was feeling lazy. Even though this is simple I like it.

Winter Cake

I was asked to make a cake for the ice festival. I had no idea what to do. I made a little Jack Frost (my favorite part of the cake) and then I added "ice sculpture" snow flakes. I made the snow flakes out of candy that I crushed and melted in the oven, I then cut it out with a cookie cutter while it was still hot. The finished cake had 4 snow flakes on the top but I was unable to get a picture with all 4 flakes. The little Jack Frost is made with mm fondant. He took quite a while to make but well worth it. He is so cute! It doesn't really show up in the picture but he is dusted with shimmer dust so he sparkles - very Jack Frost like. I took these pictures at night so they are not the best. The cake even looks a bit pink although it is really white.

Sunken Ship cake

This cake is supposed to look like a ship wreck at the bottom of the ocean. The kids wanted to help me with making the treasure. They made some gold pieces but then they gave up. They all said it was too hard to make stuff so there isn't much loot by this sunken ship.

Over the Hill Cake 2

This cake is very similar to the first Over the Hill cake that I made. I messed up a bit on the writting but over all a good cake. I haven't yet heard if the customer like it. I hope so.

Yoda cake

Yoda I am glad that you are done. Surprisingly enough the head was actually the easiest part. I made the head out of crispy treats and covered it with green fondant. The ears are also fondant. When I tried to make the body I used four 6 inch cakes stacked. When I tried to put on Yoda's cloak the fourth cake layer started to crush. It was so frustrating. I ended up making the body smaller and then putting him on a sheet cake so that there would be enough cake to feed 30 people. I also wanted to do arms under his cloak. I tried to make them twice. Once out of fondant and once out of crispy treats. The fondant arms were too heavy and the crispy treat arms just wouldn't stay put, they kept slipping down even with skewers in them. I just skipped the arms and hoped no one would mind. I will probably make another Yoda cake for one of my boys and hopefully that one will be better. I learn with each cake. Well Yoda, Done you are. Happy I am.

First Birthday cake

It is so nice to make a cake for one of my own kids once in a while. It is so much less stressful, I just baked a 9x13 cake and cut it into a 1 shape and frosted it with butter cream, so simple.

Roller Skate cake

With this cake I made a sheet cake and just cut it into the shape of a boot and then added wheels and stoppers. The hardest part was covering the wheels. I tried to frost them but they didn't quite look like roller skate wheels. I covered them with fondant and they looked much better.
