All Covered in Roses Cake

 Emma turns 9 tomorrow.  For her birthday she asked me to make a red velvet cake with pink roses all over it.  Here is the end result.  It's really simple but I like it!  Happy 9th birthday sweet Emma!

Chinese Dragon Cake

 I am told that 2012 is the year of the dragon.  I made these dragons with gumpaste.  They came out pretty cute I think.

Hello Kitty Cake Pops

Tonight I made a bunch of these cute little cake pops for my little Emma to take to school tomorrow to celebrate her birthday.  Emma helped me to make them up until she had to go to bed.  She is a good little helper.  We found the idea for these from Bakerella- she has lots of cute cake pop ideas.  We copied hers the best we could.  I think that they came out pretty darn cute!

5 Cupcakes

Our Princess Aubrey turned 5 on Friday! It's hard to believe that she is 5 already. Aubrey got a bit shafted on the cake end of her birthday because I spent the entire day making the cupcakes for Sesame Street as well as Baby Rattles so Aubreys cake is a creation from the extra cupcakes. She was happy with it though.

Sesame Street Cupcakes

These Sesame Street cupcakes were fun to make. Each cupcake flavor went along with the characters color. Elmo was strawberry, Big Bird was lemon with raspberry filling, Cookie Monster was white almond with blueberry filling and Oscar was Key Lime with Key Lime filling. A fun idea to have the flavor the same color as the character. I did forget to get a picture of the cupcakes before I boxed them up so I just snapped a quick one through the plastic cupcake boxes- which you can get for free if you just ask the walmart bakery, a nice thing to know for any of you who wonder how to transport cupcakes! I also made a little smash cake of Elmo for the birthday boy and alas I forgot to get a picture (this was just not a good day for remembering to take pictures!) It looked almost identical to the Elmo cake that I made for Jacob when he was little. That cake is on this blog somewhere. Fun, fun cupcakes to make!

Baby Rattle Cupcakes

Today was so hot my frosting was melting as I was frosting the cupcakes. I really hope they are cute enough! The handle is a lollipop stick with a life saver attached to the end by white chocolate. I successfully delivered the cupcakes and everyone seemed pleased with them so I guess they were a hit.

Hat Cake

Well, needless to say I am pretty disappointed with this hat. This weekend I had to make 3 cakes so this hat was a bit rushed and as you can see the bill of the hat cracked. This hat cake is not nearly as well done as the other hat cake that I made. That's what I get for rushing a bit. I'm just grateful that the hat is for my father-in-law. He is so patient and kind, he will still be impressed that I made him a cake regardless of weather it's cracked or not!
