The Dad wanted pirate somewhere on the cake and the mom to be didn't really want pirate theme anywhere so I tried to be tasteful with the pirate addition and just give the baby a pirate hat. I think it came out pretty cute. I made the shells out of white chocolate. The chevron was a pain to do so I only did it on the front and back of the cake. The sides are blue and red stars. Over all I like it.
I made this cake for the Relief Society birthday social. I wanted the bottom tier to be women doing service and kind things. I couldn't exactly find silhouettes that matched my thoughts but I think it came out okay anyway.
Can you tell that this is the dress that the mice and birds made for Cinderella? I love this part of the movie, Cinderella is just so thankful that her friends did something nice for her. She is truly at a lose for words she is so overwhelmed with gratitude. It is just sweet. Love those Disney movies!
Usually I do my cakes with fondant but I thought that Cub Scouts would prefer butter cream. I am not very great with butter cream and the icing could have been smoother. The pictures on the "badges" are butter cream too.
